Why Karen loves it: 

• because it's a pretty way to wear the initials of her favourite people. The silver spacers between each initial BUD charm prevent the charms from covering each other, so there's full visibility of all the initials.
• because it's an easy everyday design that's super casual.

How to Wear it:  Because of its rounded shape, we prefer it with a rounded neckline best, but if you wear it close to the necklace (16" or 18") then it will work with a V neckline too.

Karen's Fave: LAYERED CHAIN REACTION

Why Karen loves it: 

• When the world changes (and it will!) and we embrace going back out into the world again (remember hugs?), we will certainly reach for our favourite clothes, go to our favourite restaurants and hang out with our other favourite people (we need to shake up the bubble). When we do, this design will be ready and waiting to add glamour to your life. This will be your coming-out-of-covid design to mark this moment in time. Are you ready? 
• 6 days a week you'll find Karen wearing some or all of these layers, depending on her neckline. Having 4 layers made for you is amazing, but playing around with some layers today and mixing it up tomorrow breaks the lockdown routine.  
• The Paperclip chain is an every day must have; adjusted somewhere between 16" and 20" depending on the other layers she's wearing. 
• The thick Franco chain is a show stopper IRL and on the zoom. It's thick and adds beautiful texture and is the perfect 2nd layer in this design.
• Sometimes Karen wears the Herringbone chain solo for a flashy layer just inside a round or boat necklace.

How to Wear it:  Avoid a deep scoop or square neckline if you're wearing the long "V" shaped chain with the pendant (the pendant adds the weight and pulls it down in a "V" shape). Otherwise works beautifully with other necklines. And it’s A-Ok to have some layers lying on your skin and the longer laying over top of your shirt or blouse.

Layer it: This is layering perfection! 4 separate necklaces (with significant sterling silver, might we add) that can be worn together, or paired down to 1 or 2 or 3.  And we love that the Paperclip Chain is completely adjustable so make that a fun wild card and wear it any length.

Karen's Fave: FAMILY CONNECTION DIME NECKLACE

Why Karen loves it: 

• For many years, people have been telling us stories of finding dimes in the most unusual places; which they believed to be a sign from someone they've lost that they were deeply connected to. Last Fall, Karen lost her Dad and within days found her first dime which she strongly believes was a sign that he was still with them, watching over her and her family. You can read the story here, but clearly it also felt like a sign to honour those precious dimes in a way that allows you to connect to your lost loved one in a special, meaningful way.  

How to Wear it:  We've added other charms to this piece so you can connect to other loved ones too. Wear it any day that want to feel grounded and crave a connection to them.

Layer it: This one is typically worn a bit longer because of the number of charms. No need to wear anything else with this one, it's all you need (in so many ways).

Karen's Fave: ZING PENDANT

 

Why Karen loves it: 

• This was an early Citrus design; can't remember if the design inspiration came from Oprah, or just the idea of a squashed "O".  It doesn't really matter, because we love its irregular shape that is truly unique.
• It's funny how what was popular in the beginning comes back around as this one had a short rest, but chunkier pendants are having a major comeback, especially when layered with other necklaces (double tap) so it's become a best seller, again!
• The pic above is an old one from our first website (when black background was a cool thing).  We pulled it out of the CITRUS archive because we love that it's stamped CITRUS (which is kinda sweet because it is OUR birthday!)

How to Wear it: This will sit in a "V" shape so it looks best with a "V" neckline, or worn over a crew neck slightly longer so it doesn't compete with the edge of the shirt. 

Layer it: Chunky chains are making a comeback, so wear this one on the Thick Ball Chain and layer with a shorter Herringbone or Paperclip chain, or both!!!

Style Mantra:  Achieve a contemporary look when worn with a chunky chain and layered with 1 or 2 shorter chains (one shorter chunky and another between the two that is more delicate; stay tuned, we'll post this on social today)

Why Karen loves it: 

• There is something special (dare we say "lucky") about wearing a penny from your milestone year; whether it's your birth year or year of a special milestone. Each penny is cleaned + polished to almost new condition, but there's an appreciation for the adventures each penny has been on and the stories it could tell.
• The Canadian maple leaf charm, combined with your lucky penny....it's like your Canadian pride is spilling all over the place.
• We love the fact that Penny Oleksiak wore this necklace shortly after winning 4 gold medals at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Talk about Canadian pride!

How to Wear it: Wear it with your comfy clothes and wear it with pride.

Layer it: Sure, why not!  Wear it with a smaller, delicate chain 2" or 4" shorter like the Tiny Heart Necklace or Simple Necklace.

Karen's Fave: STRENGTH MORSE CODE BRACELET STACK

Why Karen loves it: 

• Now more than ever, we need to find strength wherever we can. Wearing STRENGTH in morse code is a subtle reminder to channel our inner Wonder Woman (and sometimes that's what helps us get through the day).
• The scent of sandalwood.....Mmmmmmm. 
• This stack is full of neutral colours. Some days we set aside the green aventurine and just go for all the other neutral layers. This stack is in the regular rotation and with the weather warming up, we'll be showing off our wrists again (finally).

How to Wear it: Wear this with anything and everything! The neutral colours go with everything from jeans + white tee, to our favourite silk kimono.

Why Karen loves it: 

• The circle in the middle is perfectly symbolic of ‘forever’, as a circle is naturally unending.
• It’s a simple, delicate design that is perfect to wear solo as a short layer and/or worn with a pendant at a longer length.  The picture shows Karen wearing it solo at 16” AND at 20” with the SWEET pendant attached (and personalized with FIERCE; her mantra at the time.)
• Karen's daughter, Kate, also loves it. Kate maybe 1,400 km away from home, but it makes Karen smile when they facetime and coincidently are both wearing the Forever Necklace; it somehow feels like they are a little more connected.

How to Wear it: This necklace naturally sits in a “U” shape, so wear it short (not choker, but 1” or 2” longer) and it will follow the shape of your neck and go with whatever neckline you’re wearing (well hello, versatility!)

Layer it: YES, absolutely! Karen loves wearing 2 Forever Necklaces 😊  ideally with a 4” gap between the 2 strands. The longer strand can have the SWEET pendant (shown), LEMON or MARMALADE pendant on it depending on how much stamping/personalization you need. Wear them together, or apart...the choice is yours!
